More than 60,000 surgical masks will be distributed to vuln
Frontline workers are now receiving their second jab of the coronavirus vaccine. Lautoka Hospital consultant anesthetist Dr Mara Vukivukiseru was the first to receive his second dose as he became the first Fijian to be injected with the AstraZeneca vaccine at the Nadi International Airport on 11 March 2021. Permanent Secretary for Health Dr James Fong said health officials have started administering the second dose of the coronavirus vaccine this month. Dr Fong in a statement said they are planning to set-up teams for respective sites across the country when they roll out the second dose of vaccination. “This will ensure that all Fijians will be able to access the vaccine without having to travel far or wait too long in queues,” he said.
