Province in talks with city on fate of Foundry buildings as court battle postponed for now


In an email on Tuesday, the Ontario municipal affairs and housing ministry said it has sent invitations for virtual talks to the West Don Lands Committee, the St. Lawrence Neighbourhood Association and the Corktown Residents and Business Association. 
These meetings will be taking place shortly, Stephanie Bellotto, press secretary for Steve Clark, municipal affairs and housing minister, said in the email. 
Bellotto said the ministry has encouraged the neighbourhood groups to bring members of the International Resource Centre for Performing Artists (IRCPA) to the talks. The group has proposed to regenerate the buildings as a place for musicians to work and perform and as a community hub for Corktown.  ....

Exxon Mobil, Aramco Texas oil refineries temporarily shut down for unexpected mid-winter freeze


Saudi Aramco s Motiva Enterprises is temporarily shutting down its Port Arthur Manufacturing Complex due to the inclement weather conditions.
Unprecedented freezing temperatures necessitated safely and methodically shutting down our Port Arthur Manufacturing Complex, a Motiva spokesperson told FOX Business in a statement.  We are carefully monitoring weather conditions and will resume normal operations as soon as it is safe to do so.
The facility, which sits on approximately 1,400 acres and employes more than 1,500 employees, includes North America s largest oil refinery, which has a crude capacity of more than 630,000 barrels a day.
ExxonMobil also said it would shut down its manufacturing units in Baytown and Beaumont, citing freezing weather conditions, coupled with the curtailment of natural gas supplies throughout the State of Texas. ....
