New Delhi, Jan 16: Union Health Minister, Dr. Harsh Vardhan took on the Congress which has been asking why no government functionary had come forward to take the vaccine against COVID19.

NEW DELHI: India kicked off the world s largest Covid-19 inoculation drive on Saturday with thousands of frontline workers and doctors receiving their first vaccine shots on Day 1.
With shots of the Covishield and Covaxin vaccines administered at medical centres across India, citizens heaved a collective sigh of relief in hope that it could finally be the beginning of the end of the Covid-19 trauma.
Launching the campaign earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the vaccines will ensure a decisive victory for the country over the coronavirus pandemic. Ever since its first confirmed case of coronavirus in January last year, India has reported over 1 crore infections and 1.5 lakh fatalities so far. ....

Over 1.91 lakh healthcare, sanitary workers get COVID-19 vaccine jabs; no cases of post-vaccination hospitalisation, says Centre


While government officials said that no adverse reaction was reported on the first day, reports emerged about cases of adverse reactions in Delhi, Telangana, and Maharashtra.
India Today reported that one severe , and 51 minor cases of adverse reactions after vaccination were reported among health workers in Delhi.
The Indian Express reported that Maharashtra had recorded 14 cases of adverse events, however, none were fatal.
The Indian Express also quoted Telangana public health director G Srinivasa Rao as saying that 11 mild cases of adverse reactions were noted. They experienced pain, giddiness, and sweating, which are the most common in any vaccination program, he reportedly said. ....
