Our Correspondent Imphal, Nov. 16 (EMN): Thirty-one cadres of five different insurgent groups laid down their arms and ammunition and joined the mainstream on Wednesday, at a homecoming ceremony at the 1st battalion Manipur Rifles banquet hall in Imphal. Manipur Chief Minister, N Biren Singh, accompanied by Chief Secretary Dr. Rajesh Kumar, DGP Manipur P Doungel welcomed the 31 cadres (including three women)belonging to People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak, People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak(VC), Kangleipak Communist Party-People’s War Group (KCP-PWG), Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup and another group. Ministers, MLAs, top officials of Police and Assam Rifles were also present in the day’s event wherein the cadres of the insurgent groups handed over arms and ammunition to the chief minister one after another. Our Correspondent Imphal, Sep. 26 (EMN): Chief Justice of Manipur High Court, P V Sanjay Kumar, on Monday said the Northeast of India as well as the country as a whole stands vulnerable to wildlife crimes because of the presence of porous international borders and rich prevalent biodiversity He was speaking during a workshop on “Wildlife crime prevention – challenges, solutions and role of stake holders” at the auditorium of Manipur High Court on Monday. The workshop was organised by Manipur State Legal Services authority in collaboration with research-based biodiversity conservation organisation Aaranyak.
