Our Correspondent Imphal, Nov.5 (EMN): In an effort to promote the weavers and their products on the international platform, Manipur International Textile Expo popularly known as MANITEX 2022 was formally inaugurated at the Urban Haat Nilakuthi in the outskirts of Imphal. The Expo, organised by the Directorate of Handlooms and Textiles, will continue till November 14. Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh, accompanied by Ministers Th Biswajit Singh(Power, Forest, Environment & Agriculture),Nemcha Kipgen(Textiles, Commerce & Industry), Minister L Susindro Meitei(Consumer Affairs Food and Public Distribution),Kashim Vashum(Transport)and Chairman Kh Ibomcha of Manipur Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd., were present during the inaugural function. Our CorrespondentImphal, Oct. 29 (EMN): Manipur minister of Textiles, Commerce and Industry Nemcha Kipgen on Saturday flagged off a cycle rally from Kangla Western Gate, Imphal held as a part of the upcoming Manipur International Textiles Expo (MANITEX), 2022. Over 100 bikers participated in the rally, including handloom weavers, handicrafts artisans, celebrity and enthusiastic members with an aim to spread the message of the upcoming event MANITEX, 2022 coupled with an objective towards promoting and preserving cultural heritage to weavers, artisans, textile workers and consumers. MANITEX will be held from November 5 to the 14th, 2022 at Urban Haat, Nilakuthi. During the flag off event, Kipgen expressed gratitude to all participants for extending support to MANITEX, 2022. She further urged all the people of the state to encourage and use local handloom and handicrafts products to further contribute to the socio-economic development of Manipur.
