Sumon Bepari, one of the prime accused of Pallabi’s Shahinuddin murder case, on Saturday confessed that he led the killing mission as per directive of former lawmaker MA Awal.
During police remand, Sumon also said he along with 11 others took part in the killing mission, said sources in police.
Sumon, former assistant secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan North Unit of Chhatra League, detailed everything from the plot to implementation of the gruesome murder with the exact reason behind it to policemen.
On May 16, some miscreants hacked Shahin, 33, to death in broad daylight in front of his six-year-old son at a garage in Pallabi. On Thursday, RAB and police arrested former MP of Laxmipur-1 constituency Awal, Sumon and some others for their involvement in the killing.
