For years Australians have been subjected to a deceptive and inaccurate campaign by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation around supposed budget cuts.

ABC journalists and management have steadily been spreading the talking point that their organisation was under attack by cruel conservative MPs who, if we believed the spin, would stop at nothing to strip the ABC of funding and end the careers of budding young journalists.
Like this headline from June last year:
Yes, thanks to the Coalition, which allegedly cut $84 million dollars from the ABC’s budget, hundreds would lose their jobs, a major radio bulletin would be axed and the ABC Life brand would be “scrapped”.
