A man waiting to catch a flight to Oahu was arrested Monday at Kahului Airport after he refused to wear his face mask in the terminal area, police said.
Joseph Donovan, 41, of Pennsylvania was arrested for violating public health emergency rules, police said.
He refused multiple requests to comply with the face mask mandate before being transported to the Wailuku Police Station for processing, police said.
Donovan volunteered to leave Maui and return to Oahu, police said.
