(WAFF) - A nurse working the frontlines at Helen Keller Hospital died after battling COVID-19 on Monday. Jennifer Lee McClung, age 54 of Muscle Shoals, died on December 14. According to her obituary, she passed away from complications of COVID-19. McClung worked at Helen Keller Hospital for 21 years. She spent decades serving others and surely touched a lot of lives. Co-workers said McClung leaves behind a lasting legacy. Chief nursing officer Sherry Sands said McClung treated her patients and co-workers like family and with love. ....

Helen Keller nurse, Jennifer McClung, known as Jenny or Mama Jen to most, died Monday after complications from the virus. She was a nurse at the hospital for 21 years. Her obituary said she leaves behind a husband, two kids and a grand baby. Jennifer McClung McClung was described as a mentor to the younger nurses and a friend to all with a loving way about her that made you feel safe when she was in the room with you. It s no surprise that her fellow nurses, physicians and other staff are at a true loss without her. ....
Muscle Shoals nurse who ‘lit up any room’ dies of COVID-19 complications Updated Dec 15, 2020; Facebook Share Jennifer Lee McClung, 54, of Muscle Shoals, died on Monday. One friend on social media said she would be missed “indescribably.” Another paid tribute to her, saying she “absolutely lit up ANY room when she walked in, but you would hear her before you saw her (that laugh).” A memorial service is scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday at Morrison Funeral Home in Tuscumbia. Known as “Mama Jen,” McClung was a graduate of Muscle Shoals High School, attended Northwest Shoals Community College and graduated with a nursing degree. ....
