Garry Jenkins, 39, David Powell, 50, Phillip Hill, 45, and Charles Breslin, 62, were killed at the Gleision Colliery following an incident on September 15, 2011. They were working on a routine blasting operation at the pit in Cilybebyll, near Pontardawe, but disaster struck when the tunnel they were working in began filling with water. The miners and pit manager Malcolm Fyfield blasted through to flooded old workings, causing 650,000 gallons of water to gush into the mine. ....
