MPC expects 150,000 virtual tourists by next January

THE Malaysia Productivity Corp (MPC) has officially launched Malaysia Virtual Experience (MyVXp), which aims to receive around 150,000 visitors or “virtual tourists” by January next year.Carried out through the Tourism Productivity Nexus (TPN) initiative, it is an effort to boost productivity growth of the tourism industry amid the new normal and is targeting up to 1,000 prototypes of live online experiences this year.To date, MyVXp has 150 products available, ranging between RM15 and RM50 for a 60-to 90-minute virtual experience.

KUALA LUMPUR: An association for tour bus drivers is worried for its members after the deaths of four tour bus drivers in the past three months, including one who jumped from a building. Pertubuhan Gemilang Agensi Pelancongan dan Pengusaha Bas Malaysia’s (GAPP) vice-president Wan Shairi Wan Ahmad said the other three reportedly died from heart disease. Worried with this development, which he said was related to debts incurred with loss of income because of Covid-19, he has suggested that tour bus drivers be given counselling to help them manage psychological and emotional stress.
