losses of life happen and there weren t more people injured in this area. clearly, the spirit of that community is not broken. thank you, nick. let s bring in jennifer gray. what do we need to know about the threat today? reporter: we still have a severe threat down in florida now. these storms are on the move. as you mentioned. the wintry side is being is also a major threat, so we ll zoom down on the tornado threat. you can see across central florida, tampa, orlando, experiencing the storm so tampa finally in the clear but those will be traveling southward then you can see all of this snow that s falling across the northeast, the big cities are being spared. this is mainly west of i-95. but as you mentioned. that ice threat is a real concern. we ve seen a quarter of an inch of ice accumulation is cross portions of west virginia, maybe into pennsylvania and that will be a huge concern making travel nearly impossible. we could see power outages because of that as well. so here ar
we could see just inches of snow. looking at radar, you can see the snow bands setting up. colder air going over the likter bands. the light colors, that s the heaviest snow falling. just streaming off the great lakes. we do winter alerts stretching from wisconsin to michigan, ohio, pennsylvania, and also upstate new york, watertown, buffalo, that s where we expect the heaviest snowfall. this is going to be a crippling snowstorm. making travel pretty much impossible in some spots impossible. the heaviest wind east of the great lakes. we could see five feet of snow near buffalo. that is a big weather headline. that is going to be a big story twheekd. it is also really cold coast to coast. we re looking at freeze alerts from the carolinas to the southeast along the gulf coast. and it s pretty much chilly everywhere. we re looking at temperatures 20 degrees below normal in some spots.
