Service delivery protest in Makhanda suspended

The suspension comes after a meeting between protest organisers and a provincial government delegation.
The organisers have given authorities 14 days to come up with a clear plan to address poor service delivery.
Service delivery protests in Makhanda have been suspended with immediate effect.
This was confirmed by Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs MEC Xolile Nqatha and the organisers of the protest.
The protest was suspended after Wednesday s urgent crisis meeting between provincial government leaders and protest organisers.
Among those attending the meeting were MEC for Transport Weziwe Tikana-Gxothiwe, Finance and Economic Development MEC Mlungisi Mvoko and the mayor of Makana, Mzukisi Mphahlwa. ....
