The New York Times trying to break down that our data. That map shows the share of people eating thanksgiving dinner with people outside their homes. The darker the caller shading on the map, the larger the expected share according to that survey. As the map illustrates and according to the New York Times, there is a regional variation in thanksgiving plans, with people in some parts of the country more likely to gather with others.
