Both passengers in the back of a car that crashed into a tree in unicorporated Contra Costa County sunday morning. The california Highway Patrol says the 16yearold girl behind the wheel says she fell asleep if just before slamming into the tree on Franklin Canyon road at 60 miles per hour. It appears to have been a tragic accident. Particularly heartbreaking for the studentbody knowing that all three girls, the chp says, were wearing their seatbelts. Investigators also saying it appears drugs or alcohol were not factors in the crash. For now, students and staff remain stunned. Grief stricken over what happened.
