Dr. Major Bradshaw received the Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his career dedicated to medicine and medical education, at home and abroad. A graduate of Baylor College of Medicine, Bradshaw completed training at Johns Hopkins and the National Institutes of Health before returning to Baylor, where he held progressive leadership roles in education while maintaining a practice in infectious diseases. In 2006, Bradshaw became the founding dean of the University of Botswana School of Medicine, a partnership with Baylor. In this role, he was influential in the efforts to stop the “brain drain” of bright young physicians leaving Africa for medical careers elsewhere. ....
