Both Callie Ryan and Chad Jeffrey say they can t imagine doing anything else. They both thrive on the social interactions that go along with being bartenders in a friendly, close-knit beach community. The friends and roommates both work at The Dive on N. Lake Park Blvd. in Carolina Beach and have a long history in the food and beverage business there. They are also survivors of the fire that destroyed their home, and many others, in the Paradise Cove community on April 2. Of the two, Ryan was the only one home. “I had just gotten home from having lunch with friends,” she said. “And then in 15 minutes the fire broke out. And then it seemed like in another 15, the building was burnt to the ground.” ....
