It is one of those stories, that just comes and goes, but in reality it is a reflection of this nation, no one in authority takes note, huffs and puffs, it all goes the way of many a Nigerian episode, so after many days, the Nigerian Army finally broke their silence that an investigation has been opened into the alleged killing of a watermelon seller in Zamfara State by one of its personnel.

The Nigerian Army has said it is searching for one of its personnel who reportedly shot dead a fruit seller over N300 banana and water melon in Zamfara State.
The army in a release on Tuesday vowed to bring the erring soldier to justice, even though it failed to disclose the identity of the soldier.
There had been reports that the fruit vendor in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, Abdulkadir Musa, was shot dead for refusing to allow the soldier to go away with his bunch of fruits without paying for it.

The Nigerian Army said on Sunday night that its troops of 8 divisions, deployed for clearance Operations against armed bandits in Zamfara state and adjourning states have killed 5 Bandits’ Commanders and neutralized 48 others in separate gun battles under ‘Operation Mutane’.
During the Operation, eighteen (18) kidnapped victims were successfully rescued from the bandit’s camps.
Brig General Mohammed Yerima, Director, Army Public Relations who made this known in a statement added that Several Bandits’ camps were destroyed while sophisticated arms and ammunition were captured.
He said, “Troops of 8 Division, Nigerian Army operating in Zamfara and adjoining States made tremendous progress in the ongoing fight against banditry and other violent crimes in the North West.
