Maiwada Takum said the victim was traveling to her hometown when she was abducted. He said of all the passengers in the vehicle, only the student was taken away. She was said to have been kept inside a forest in Benue State until her family members raised a N500,000 ransom. Maiwada said the kidnappers instructed that the money be kept at a location off Takum Kashinbila road.
