RTA sets speed limits for cyclists on dedicated tracks

RTA sets speed limits for cyclists on dedicated tracks 01 Feb 2021 Photo used for illustrative purpose. Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has set speed limits for cyclists in Dubai ranging from 30km/h on dedicated lanes for amateurs to 20 km/h on lanes shared with pedestrians in urban areas. The step stems from RTA’s keenness to ensure the safety of cyclists in collaboration with the Dubai Police General HQ. “Setting speed limits for bikers on permissible zones and tracks is part of RTA’s responsibility under the Resolution of the Executive Council No (10) for 2015 and RTA’s standards for designing cycling tracks in Dubai,” said Eng. Maitha Bin Adai, CEO of Traffic and Roads Agency, RTA.
