Share Russell Goodale Martin BATH – Russell Goodale Martin, retired licensed professional engineer, passed away unexpectedly on April 25, 2021 at Mount St. Joseph in Waterville after a short illness. Russ was born in Belgrade on Nov. 24, 1949, the son of Robert “Bob” and Dorothy “Dottie” Martin. As a child he enjoyed music, sports and especially putting together model cars which were displayed in his home for years. Upon graduating from Belgrade Central High School in 1968 Russ went to the University of Maine in Orono where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He started his career working for D.O.T. in 1973 counting traffic and soon worked for the Department of Human Services Division of Environmental Health where he stayed until his early retirement in 1990.
