George Lebese nominated for Colorado Springs Switchbacks Goal of the

Dec 24, 2020 - 09:02 am By Staff Reporter Former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns star George Lebese has been nominated for the Colorado Springs Switchbacks Goal of the Year award. Lebese enjoyed a solid debut season abroad with the Switchbacks, scoring twice in 16 USL Championship appearances, including an incredible long-range effort during the club s historic four-goal comeback against Austin Bold in August. With his side having fallen 4-0 behind at half-time, Lebese completed the remarkable turnaround when he unleashed a left-footed screamer from the edge of the box passed the outstretched arms of Bold shot-stopper Diego Restrepo. The 31-year-old Bafana Bafana international s sublime effort has now been nominated as one of the two finalists for the Switchbacks Goal of the Season award, alongside Aidan Daniels belter against New Mexico United last month.
