The Supreme Court on Wednesday sought the response of the Lok Sabha Secretariat to a plea by Trinamool Congress party (TMC) leader Mahua Moitra challenging her expulsion from Lok Sabha.
The Supreme Court has postponed the hearing on Mahua Moitra s challenge against her Lok Sabha expulsion to January 3. Seeking urgent redress, Moitra deemed her expulsion "unfair, unjust, and arbitrary." Moitra was ousted from Parliament on December 8 following an Ethics Committee probe into cash for query allegations. She criticized the decision, likening it to a "kangaroo court," and accused the government of weaponizing the parliamentary panel.
