Trinamool leader Mahua Moitra has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate for questioning in a foreign exchange violation case, sources said Wednesday.
The ousted Lok Sabha MP had sought directions to ED to refrain from leaking any "confidential or unverified information" to the media in relation to the investigation against her under the Foreign Exchange Management Act.
The summons was issued after Mahua Moitra did not appear for questioning on Monday, according to sources. The 49-year-old politician has been given a week to appear before the ED.
BJP MP Nishikant Dubey had accused Mahua Moitra of asking questions in the Lok Sabha to target the Adani Group and Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the behest of businessman Darshan Hiranandani in exchange for gifts.
