(Representative image) RAJKOT: A senior citizen couple was brutally thrashed in their house in Faddang village of Rajkot district by five persons against whom they had lodged a complaint of extortion. The victim Vallabh Khunt suffered fractures and he was hospitalized along with his wife who too suffered injuries. Kuvadava Road police station sources said Khunt lodged a complaint of attempted murder against Shivku alias Shivraj Vala, Mahip Chavda and three unidentified persons. On Sunday afternoon, Vala and others barged inside with sticks and other sharp weapons and asked me why I had lodged a complaint against him for extortion. They started thrashing me, and when my wife tried to intervene, they attacked her too. They even threatened to kill my son if I reported this assault to police, Khunt, a land broker and farmer, said in his complaint. ....
