While the Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) has given respite to residents by extending two months for paying property tax without penalty, the Bombay High Court refused to stay on the property tax collection by the corporation. Now, the next hearing is scheduled on April 18.
“We have decided to fight against illegal and unjustifiable property tax collection together and the first hearing is scheduled on March 14,” said Garad.
A video shot by the family, which lives in Indiranagar, went viral in which the patient was seen on an oxygen concentrator at home and kin frantically trying to help her breathe.

In some positive news for Mumbaikars, for the third day in a row, the maximum city has witnessed slowdown in new Covid-19 cases. On Sunday, the city reported 3,672 cases, taking the overall case tally to 6.56 lakh. 5,452 people recovered in a day, while 79 people lost their lives to the virus. Mumbai now has 57,342 active patients. However, the city also saw lesser testing with 28,636 tests against an average of 40,000. Meanwhile, vaccination of 500 registered people between the age of 18 to 44 at five centres each, will be conducted between 9 am to 5 pm. The BMC has appealed to people not to crowd as there will be no spot registration. Only those with prior appointments will be allowed inside vaccination centres.
