Knife. Today marks exactly one year since a man raped and killed a 66yearold woman in dubuque. And at seven oclock tonight, family and friends will be gathering to remember the victim, nancy krapfl. Police say krapfl was out for a morning walk last september when Helmon Betwell beat her and raped her. He was 19 at the time. After his arrest, police say betwell told them he attacked the woman because had Nothing Better charges of first degree murder, first degree sexual abuse, and burglary. He and krapfl did not know each other. A judge ruled earlier this year that betwell is not mentally competent to stand trial right now.
