His eyeballs pop off and he probably has Gritty on speed dial for whenever he s really in the mood for a rager, but I m not entirely sure that cuts it these days. As a Rio Grande Valley native, I ve seen my fair share of mascots. The University of Texas at Brownsville proudly held onto the Scorpion as its mascot for years before merging with the rest of the universities in the area and becoming UTRGV.
