The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike’s ( BBMP’s) decision brought cheer to thousands of vendors and traders. The vendors and traders were busy cleaning the shops and stocking goods on Thursday. They had expected more visitors to come to the market on opening day but were disappointed with the low footfall. “I used to sell food items worth Rs 30,000 per day before the pandemic. Now, very few customers are visiting the market. I sold food worth Rs 5,000 yesterday. I am not sure about the money I can make by the end of Friday,’’ said Tajuddin of ....
