PORTSMOUTH – While a large front window is boarded up, the owner of Moe’s Italian Sandwiches said Sunday the eatery remained open and she will not let vandalism affect the business. Vandals struck about 8:30 p.m. Saturday night, shattering the large picture window of the longtime Daniel Street business. Owner Cheryl Pagano said they believe, from speaking with others, it was a group of teens or young adults and breaking the window was intentional. The people did not gain entry to the building and nothing was stolen, she said. No accident, pure vandalism “I heard from neighbors that they believe it was 5 or 6 people,” said Pagano. “They broke the window with a glass cutter, so it was not an accident and was pure vandalism. The entire window shattered but remained in place. When I got there, you could ‘hear’ the window, like the sound of ice cracking. I kept waiting for it to fall inside or outside but it didn’t.” ....
