Deadline Detroit | Michigan gets 47,200 more Covid vaccine doses in past week and adds 183 sites

Covid shots were given to 59,000 Michiganians through Sunday, state data shows. First-stage recipients are health workers and nursing home residents.
Michigan has received 278,275 doses of coronavirus vaccines since Dec. 14 from Pfizer and Moderna under a federal distribution system, including 47,200 doses last week.
Thirty percent of Michigan s vials have reached the tricounty Detroit area. (Details are below.)
Vaccines began Monday at nursing homes, which have accounted for more than 4,400 of Michigan s 12,089 pandemic deaths. Shots are being given by pharmacists from Walgreens and CVS.

Deadline Detroit | 3 Metro Detroit counties get one-third of Michigan's Covid vaccines in Week One

Michigan has received 166,775 doses of Covid vaccines in icy vials, with more than that amount coming from Pfizer and Moderna by the end of next week.
Detroit and its three surrounding counties got 55,625 doses as of Monday night, which is 33.4% of the state s total since Dec. 14.
As of Sunday, 26,737 hospital workers and medical emergency first responders were vaccinated statewide.
