Tech Concludes Outdoor Regular Season at UGA


ATHENS, Ga. – Georgia Tech track & field concluded its 2021 outdoor regular season at the Torrin Lawrence Memorial Meet hosted by the University of Georgia at Spec Towns Track in Athens on Saturday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets laced it up against host UGA, Clemson, Columbia International University, Connecticut, Emory, Georgia State, North Carolina and Virginia Tech.
“We had a good weekend at UGA,” said head women’s track & field coach
Alan Drosky. “The highlight was Bria breaking her own school record in the long jump yesterday. Then today she gets a seasonal best in the triple jump. Taylor jumped an outdoor personal best yesterday in the long jump and Reese had a nice personal best in the hurdles. The weekend ended well with a seasonal best in the 1600m relay. Being right in the middle of exams, we were a little flat in some areas.” ....

Jackets Take On Crimson Tide Invite This Weekend


THE FLATS – Georgia Tech track & field is headed to Tuscaloosa, Ala., this weekend to compete at the Crimson Tide Invitational on April 9-10. Week Four pits the Yellow Jackets against host Alabama, Central Arkansas, Indiana State, Kennesaw State, UL-Lafayette, LSU, Memphis, Mississippi State, Samford, South Alabama, Southern Mississippi, Troy, Tulane and UAB (women).
At the time of publication, three Yellow Jackets rank in the top-20 in the country in their respective events. Senior distance runner
Andrew Kent is ranked No. 20 in the men’s 5K with a time of 13:47.77. Senior jumper

Women's High Jumpers Lead Jackets at Final Day of Florida Relays – Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets


GAINESVILLE, Fl. – Georgia Tech track & field closed out Week Three of the 2021 outdoor season at the final day of Florida Relays at James G. Pressly Stadium on Saturday. Tech took on host Florida, Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, Iowa State, Kentucky, Miami, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Southern California and Virginia Tech.
“We traveled a smaller group this weekend but still had some really good results and continue to make improvements in a lot of areas,” said head women’s track & field coach

Jackets Close Out Clemson Invite


Alexis Kitchens, were Tech’s four podium finishers during the last events of the Invite.
Walls, the Jackets top performer on the day, placed second in the women’s 3000m crossing the finish line at 10:04.87. The Clemson Invite was the true freshman’s second collegiate meet of her career. Six Tech runners placed in the top-10 in the 3000m, as
 McKnight joined Walls on the podium taking third with a time of 10:14.91.
Kitchens set a personal best time in the 200m as she sprinted to a 24.97 third-place performance. She earned three personal best marks in three separate events throughout the Invite in the 200m, 60m (7.67) and long jump (5.74m/18’10”) ....
