What was once just a craft idea for senior citizens in a South Ogden independent retirement community, has now turned into an annual tradition to give back to the community.
A KEEN environmentalist has been collecting bags full of litter in a bid to clean up the area where she lives and goes to school. Lyla Cooper, who is a year four pupil at Willow Tree Primary School in Clock Face, has been out litter picking after being concerned about the amount of rubbish dumped on footpaths and roads. Sophie Vickers, who is one of Lyla’s teachers, said: “What a great role model Lyla is for her friends and other children her age. “It’s amazing how one small act can make such a huge difference – her efforts really have gone a long way to improving the local area.”
