live from the kgo broadcast center, this is abc7 news. good evening. thanks for joining us. we begin with a desperate rescue attempt in the waters off san francisco. a man fell off a cliff and despite a heroic effort, he was pronounced dead. sergio cantanna has our story. reporter: this was a swift and sizable effort to save a life. but it s a rescue that didn t end well. we retrieved the victim from the water, and he was transported by the coast guard to marin, a base for the coast guard. unfortunately, the adult male is deceased. reporter: at ft. baker, the body was driven away in a black van and officers with the national park place and ranger service, inspected evidence. they have not released any information how the man fell off the cliff or who he is. san francisco firefighters say the area where he fell in was not easy to get to. trails are marked for the safety of the people. you have to be careful to stay away from the edge. the water is pretty rough ov
shot to death in a car in january. abc7 news reporter lyanne melenez joins us. reporter: lee farley pled guilty to possessing a stolen firearm. also found out farley has several priors including a possession of cocaine. in 2010, possession of a firearm and 2012, for second degree burglary. now, today, one victims mother reacted to this arrest. the death penalty. we have to send forth a message you can t go around killing each other. . reporter: that is what one victim s mother says she wants. police called the mothers with the name. 27-year-old lee farley. the suspect was in custody at the federal prison atwater, california. a gang enhancement will be added. the shooting of the four young men occurred a year and a half ago in san francisco. their car was double parked on laguna street. san francisco police had reason to believe the killers were members of a western edition gang. we d made an arrest, we believed there was people who knew about the game. one

back. special needs students losing buses. the livermore district is using cabs. not riding school buses. they did not bid on that and so a new mode of transportation. the yellow durham buses will no longer be seen at livermore schools. one bus driver asked not to be identified transports 22 special needs students each day to and from school and underwent intensive training to work and care for students on these trips. 265 special needs students take a bus to school. livermore says they will not be using this bus service but instead using cabs but they say parents don t need to worry and things not in the back seated of the cab to get to school. they provide cab as much as and a majority of transportation and other means and the majority will be provided through van access. the cab company in pleasanton ordered 32 vans to service the livermore schools. they will communicate with us. we have some children that have to be air conditioned at a certain temperature
