A Manhattan federal judge rejected a request for emergency relief from New York City Mayor Eric Adams' homeless directive to involuntarily hospitalize the mentally ill.
Mayor Adams, on Nov. 29, said NYPD, FDNY EMS, and Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Mobile Crisis Teams could detain people with “untreated psychotic disorders who pose a risk of harm to themselves even if they are not an imminent threat to the public.”
