Stay-at-Home Orders Inspire The Home Project – A Collaboration With On The Verge Theatre Festival

Housing and Development Newsletter Mitra Cline’s “Transformation by Fire” is part video collage, part dance piece, performed by Brooklyn Snyder and inspired by wildfires. Directors Kate Bergstrom, Josiah Davis, Sara Rademacher, Daniel Herrera and Daniel Andres Blanco worked over Zoom and via phone to adapt to COVID-19 circumstances, with Rademacher and Blanco spearheading the project as co-producers. The result is a new way for the community to collaborate, and a new direction for On the Verge. The multimedia, multi-creator collaboration came in response to last year’s stay-at-home orders. With stages shuttered, the On the Verge Festival called upon area creators to develop works from a distance. The filmed works-in-progress are provocative, heartfelt and moving.
