The National Bird Dog Championship are held at Ames Plantation near Grand Junction, Tennessee.
First organized and run near West Point, Mississippi, in 1896, the National Championship for Bird Dogs has been hailed as the Super Bowl of field trials. Through these many years, the rules have remained the same.
They call it the Amesian Standard – style, stamina and the ability to locate coveys of quail. That’s the standard and/or rule developed by Hobart Ames since Ames Plantation near Grand Junction, Tennessee, became the home of the National Championship in 1915. ....
