The fate of Paul Flores is now in the hands of a jury who will decide whether or not he is guilty of killing California college student Kristin Smart, who mysteriously vanished in 1996.
Prosecutors on Monday told the jury in the Kristin Smart case that Paul Flores was guilty as sin of her murder. The defense, meanwhile, said the case was based wholly on rumors.
Jurors are hearing closing statements in the Kristin Smart murder trial case against Paul Flores, while a separate jury will hear closing arguments in the case of Ruben Flores on Tuesday.
Dog handler Adela Morris testified at the Kristin Smart murder trial that her dog made a beeline for the bed in suspect Paul Flores dorm room in the weeks after the student s 1996 disappearance.
Crystal Teschendorf, Kristin Smart s former roommate, said she and other students called police twice about her disappearance on May 24, 1996, before cops put out a missing persons report.
