Dominican Republic Olympic Committee to sign deal to support athlete training Tuesday, 9 February 2021
The Dominican Republic Olympic Committee (COD) and the country’s Government are set to sign an agreement which will see athletes receive scholarships to help with training.
Antonio Acosta, the newly-appointed President of the COD, and Franklin García Fermín, the Dominican Republic’s Minister of Higher Education, announced the move at a recent meeting.
The agreement is expected to be formalised at the COD headquarters with National Federations present, although a date has yet to be confirmed. We are going to grant scholarships and the possibility that athletes, technicians and coaches can receive training at the highest level, said Fermín.

(ATR) Centro Caribe Sports confirmed that it will visit Mayagüez, Puerto Rico and San Salvador, El Salvador in the last week of January.

The organization decided to make these trips before deciding on the new venue for the Central American and Caribbean Games scheduled for 2022.
The dates were defined in the most recent virtual meeting of the CCS Executive Committee. El Salvador will be visited on January 25-26 and Puerto Rico on the following two days.
