California coast in santa cruz. they never have seen anything like it. it s late october, 2011. friends barbara and adam spot several hump back whales in the month ray bay, practicing a group feeding technique. the whales blow bustles around schools are fish, creating a foot ball. it moves around like a lava lamp. it then comes from up underneath under the ripping of bubbles with the mouth open. like many whale watcher, they rent a kayak and paddle around the bay, having no luck spotting hump backs, they paddle back to shore. there all these birds out off the shore. low and behold there was a whale. ....
