University Theatre Recognized for Productions

University of the Ozarks Theatre has been recognized for numerous awards and honors by the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) for its recent performance of “Proof.”
University Theatre performed four live, virtual performances of “Proof” last weekend to conclude its 2020-21 schedule. The troupe also performed virtual productions of “For Hurting Hands,” and “Murder’s Disposal” this past year.
“In a year that has seen most professional theatres closed, University of the Ozarks theatre students have gone above and beyond to bring productions to life,” said Rebecca Bailey, assistant professor of theatre. “I am so proud of the dedication and ingenuity that our students have shown. University Theatre to Present Professor Shook’s Murder’s Disposal

Valentine’s Day may never be the same, thanks to the University of the Ozarks Theatre’s dark comedy,
Murder’s Disposal, written and directed by Dr. Rhonda Shook, associate professor of communication.
John Dunn has been swindled. Twenty thousand dollars has disappeared, along with his new girlfriend. When he turns to Murder’s Disposal to recover the money and execute the girlfriend, the last thing he expects to find is the woman of his dreams, Murder herself.
Murder’s Disposal runs February 12 and 13 at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. on Zoom. On Saturday night, following the performance, Shook, cast, and crew will answer questions posed by the audience.
