Lenoir-Rhyne 4x400 Relay Finishes 10th at NCAA D2 Nationals

The 4×400 relay team finished in 10th place at NCAA nationals with a time of 3:18.58 Saturday evening. This was Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s Track and Field first 4×400 relay team to compete at indoor NCAA Nationals in school history. The Bears relay team was made up of Chandelor Stamp, Lucas Besong, Jacob Wadsworth and Marlin Davis. Although not this relay team’s fastest time of the year the time of 3:18.58 is still one on the fastest times in program history. Final Results

L-R Men s Indoor Track and Field To Send Relay Team, Heptathlon Athlete to Nationals

For the first time in program history, the Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s Indoor Track and Field Team will send a relay team to the NCAA Division II Championships. The 4×400 meter relay team of Chandelor Stamp, Jacob Wadsworth, Marlin Davis and Lucas Besong will represent the Bears at nationals and Devine Drummond will serve as the alternate. Additionally, Wadsworth also qualified for the heptathlon. The championships will be held March 11-13 in Birmingham, AL at the Birmingham CrossPlex. The University of Montevallo and the City of Birmingham will serve as co-hosts of the championships. Six L-R Track and Field Athelets Earn All-Region Six L-R Track and Field Athelets Earn All-Region March 3, 2021 Besong, a junior from Camden Wyoming, DE, earned honors in the 400m dash and 4x400m relay race. Davis, a sophomore from Indian Land, S,C., earned his second straight All-Region honors in the 60m dash, 200m dash, and the 4x400m relay race. Stamp, a junior hailing from High Point, N.C., earned a spot by being on the 4x400m relay team which fastest time of 3:13.80 is a school record. Wadsworth, a junior from Dansville, N.Y., earned honors in heptathlon and 4x400m relay. Wadsworth owns the school record in the heptathlon for most points. He was also the Southeast region’s top performer in both of these events.
