Kenton County Sheriff warns of scam callers posing as law enforcement Scripps and last updated 2021-01-20 16:27:30-05 COVINGTON, Ky. â Scam callers are at it again, the Kenton County Sheriff s Office said, and they re posing as law enforcement officers to convince victims to hand over money by phone or in person. According to a scam alert Wednesday, the caller identifies themselves as Lt. Yarboro with the Kenton County Sheriff s Office, most recently from (859) 474-7750. Then, they ask for money in order take care of outstanding warrants or court costs. But the sheriff s office said their staff will never ask citizens for money over the phone for missed jury duty, court fees or outstanding warrants. ....
