Monday, 05 April 2021 - 9:32 The Meteorological Department states that the sun will be directly above the latitudes of Sri Lanka from today (04) until 14 April. Accordingly, the sun will be over Thelwatta, Baddegama, Dediyawala, Mulatiyana, Angunakopelessa and Udamalala areas today (05). The Meteorological Department stated that due to this there could be extreme temperatures in 10 districts which should be taken into consideration. Thursday, 11 February 2021 - 20:11 35 national squad players who were subject to PCR Tests yesterday (10th Feb) have received their results. SLC cricket announced that all tests have returned negative Covid-19. This also includes the Coaching Staff, Net Bowlers, and the HPC Staff. The players were part of the provisional squad who were preparing to take part in the Tour of West Indies. However, training was halted last week, following Head Coach Mickey Arthur and Sri Lanka Player Lahiru Thirimanne tested Positive for Covid-19. Monday, 25 January 2021 - 14:00 Sri Lanka Naval Ship (SLNS) ‘Rathnadeepa’ boarded with a team of Navy divers reached MV ‘Eurosun’ that ran aground at Little Basses about 5.5 nautical miles (10km) off the southeastern coast of the island on 23rd January and preliminary investigation into the incident got underway. According to the preliminary investigation, no damage to the bulk carrier’s hull was reported and there was no sign of water leaking into the ship or oil into the ocean. It was also revealed that 15 Filipino nationals including the captain of the ship and 03 Ethiopian nationals were safe onboard. The Marine Environment Protection Authority stated that it has been revealed that the captain of the MV ‘Eurosun’ ship which had collided with a reef near the small Ravana lighthouse off the coast of Hambantota has changed course. ....
