A fund-raising target of £100,000 has been set to make a lasting tribute to the comedy legend in his adopted home town of Lytham a reality.
The aim is for the statue to be placed in Lowther Gardens and contributions to the public subscriptions appeal are being invited via a Just Giving site on the internet.

Bobby, who died in October, aged 76, was a patron of Lowther Pavilion, the theatre set in the Gardens, and had performed at the venue many times, including the staging of the first play he wrote, ‘Rock Off Tommy’. ....

Police issue dispersal order following pre-arranged fight between 30 youths
A dispersal order was put in place after almost 30 teenagers were caught fighting close to a town centre.
On Friday evening, at around 8pm, officers received reports that a large group of youths had been involved in a scuffle, resulting in a 15-year-old boy being injured.
Police who were already in the area engaging with groups of youths found a minor altercation had broken out between a small group, with the rest there as onlookers.
Following the incident, rumours spread on social media that those involved had been carrying weapons, but officers were quick to dispel the assumptions. ....

Bobby Ball is set to be honoured with a £100,000 statue in his adopted hometown of Lytham.
A fundraising campaign will be launched on Just Giving next week in memory of the late comedy star - who sadly died in October aged 76 - with the tribute set to sit in the town s Lowther Gardens.
As quoted by the Blackpool Gazette, Bobby s widow Yvonne said: A walk and sit in Lowther Gardens was a favourite pastime but always ended up taking longer than anticipated and would turn into a ‘promote Lytham’ exercise, while Bobby happily chatted and let people know how lucky he felt to be living here. ....
