Magistrate Lovely Natasha Charles also ordered Mohd Zairul Hakim Moktar to pay a fine of RM5,000 in default 12 months’ jail. Mohd Zairul pleaded guilty to cheating one Joel Thien Tze Lit, 30, by deceiving the latter that he (Mohd Zairul) was the owner of the 2.19-acre land in Sandakan. Kota Kinabalu: A man and a woman were charged with having 158.6gm of cannabis. However, no plea was taken from Mohd Jamri Basir, 20, and Syafika Abdul Suaib, 19, after the charge was read to them before Sessions Court Judge Azreena Aziz, on Friday. The duo is accused of having the drug at 10.30pm on May 15 this year at the Angkasa Apartment, Jalan Tuaran Bypass, here. ADVERTISEMENT The offence, under 39A(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act, read together with Section 34 of the Penal Code, carries life imprisonment and death sentence, and whipping of at least 15 strokes of the cane, on conviction.
