The first notes of La Vie en Rose bounce across the lobby of Treyton Oaks Towers as Richard Spalding, 97, deftly presses the ivories on a communal piano at the senior living facility. The song was his late wife Cécile Jeunet s favorite, since their days together in France at the end of World War II. The comforting sound of Spalding playing the piano is a familiar one at the 12-story senior center at 211 W. Oak St., but one that was silenced as coronavirus restrictions shut down normal daily life for its residents. ....
