The Old Schwamb Mill has announced a new exhibition, “In the Spirit of the Dutch Golden Age: Still Life Photography by Brian Maguire.”
Currently, the mill is closed to the public for in-person tours or visitation as of Dec. 15, in accordance with the guidance of the Arlington Department of Health and Human Services. For information, visit http://oldschwambmill.org.
The exhibit will showcase the fine art photography of the late Maguire. In his own words, he described being “inspired more by painters than photographers, especially 17th- and 18th-century European still life painters, especially the Dutch, with their fine detail, concentration on extremes of light and dark. and above all their concern with seeing and portraying the world rather than imposing ideas on it.” ....
