Historic churches of the Lewes United Methodist Charge remembered
Faith United Methodist Church member Hurley Waples of Rehoboth Beach designed and built this 3-D representation of the four African American churches that historically made up the Lewes United Methodist Charge. Shown are Israel United Methodist Church, still in existence at 20230 Plantation Road, Lewes; the former Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, now called Faith United Methodist Church, still in existence at 19940 Church St., Rehoboth Beach; the former John Wesley United Methodist Church in Belltown, which has been sold; and the former St. Paul United Methodist Church in Lewes, which has been sold.
