On Sunday, April 7, Algona received a visitor from the Hungarian Consulate in Chicago. Laszlo Aradvari, a Diplomat for Hungarian communities abroad traveled here to place a wreath on the statue of Louis Kossuth at the courthouse. The ribbon on the wreath says “The past is the mirror for the future.”
The gesture was to recognize and honor the 130th anniversary of Louis Kossuths death. Aradvari came here from Hungary in January of this year and is exploring Hungarian connections.
